Congratulations to the Danica Crewing Specialists office in Batumi, Georgia, which is celebrating its second birthday in July.
Situated in Batumi, Georgia’s key seafarer hub on the Black Sea coast, Danica’s Georgia office has access to a significant seafaring community. Georgia is home to some 10,000 marine officers and a similar number of ratings.
Georgia has recognition agreements for seafarers’ licenses with most Flag states in the world. Its maritime education and certification systems have been completely overhauled over the past decade and now fully meet IMO STCW and EMSA requirements.
The Danica team of experienced crewing officers is headed by Capt Raul Beridze, a Georgian citizen who had a successful career at sea, culminating in the command of bulk carriers, before coming ashore in 2018 to found a manning agency which then merged into the Danica Group.
Captain Henrik Jensen, Danica Managing Director, said: “We are delighted that our Batumi, Georgia office has fitted so well into our global network of crewing offices in all the major seafaring hubs. Well done to the team and we wish you a happy birthday.”
