Danica’s pool of Georgian Seafarers continues to grow

Georgia is proving to be an excellent source of seafarers for Danica clients.

Established over a year ago, Danica’s office in Batumi is growing steadily in response to demand from discerning ship owners who wish to source competent, capable and qualified Georgian staff.

As in all other Danica offices, all seafarers signing up to Danica are carefully screened, tested, and interviewed to ensure only the best crew members join. All paperwork is verified and, of course, as a professional crew supplier, Danica does not charge a joining fee to seafarers.

Danica CEO Henrik Jensen explains: “For Danica clients, Georgia has turned out to be a very good source of crew with an ever-growing pool of competent and loyal seafarers available.

“Just last week our busy office in Batumi successfully lined up a full crew for urgent joining on a bulk carrier within four days.”

Georgia is whitelisted by both the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA). Its maritime academies provide quality training using latest technology. Noted the high standard of training in Georgia Mr Jensen comments: “I just visit the maritime academy and training centres last week. It is the only country I have heard of at present where the number of students at the maritime academies is increasing.”
